William P. "Bill" Harnishfeger, 75 , died Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Methodist Medical Center Oak Ridge . Born in Lima, Ohio, Bill was the son of the late Alfred P. an d Olive Leona May Harnishfeger. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Bill was a crane operator and a longtime member of Operating Engineers Union Local #917. He retired from Barnhart Crane in Knoxville, Tennessee. Bill enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Goldwing Riders Association Chapter M. He and Fran visited every chapter in the state of Tennessee. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Grandview Twirlers . Bill enjoyed paint ing and draw ing , cooking and working with wood. He was a m ember the VFW Post in Lima, Ohio and the First Presbyterian Church of Spring City. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Kay Harnishfeger.
Survivors include his wife F ran High Harnishfeger of Spring City, daughters Su san (Brandon) Sh river of Wyoming and Marie Harnishfeger of Marysville, WA , stepchildren Bob (Betty) High and Pat (Mike) Hensley both of Cincinnati, OH and Jackie L. (Dennis) Farrer of Pittsburg, PA , brother Alvin Lee (Molly) Harnishfeger of Hemet, CA , sisters Anna (Randal Crocker) Prock of Tazewell, TN and Leona (William) Harden of Richmond, MI and grandchildren Ginger Shenefelt of Wyoming and Aspen Shenefelt of Idaho.
A memorial service will be held Satur day, October 12 , 2019 at 2:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Satur day from 12:00 pm to 2:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wolf Creek Baptist Church, 5225 Wolf Creek Road, Spring City, TN 37381.
