William "Buddy" Holloway 72, died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 10, 2017.
A lifetime resident of Spring City, Buddy was the son of the late Garland and Cynthia Anne Fox Holloway. He was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1964. Buddy started out his working career at Shipley's Supermarket as a teenager, moved on to work several years at La-Z-Boy, then made a career of commercial fishing for over 25 years. He was an avid outdoors-man with a passion for hunting and fishing. Buddy was a member of the Victory Baptist Church of Spring City where he was Sunday School Superintendent. He enjoyed sharing the message of Christ thru his singing.
Buddy was preceded in death his brothers Jack, John, and Jim Holloway.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years Betty Holloway of Spring City, sister Barbara McClendon of Spring City, two sister in-laws, children Keith, Bobby(Shelly), Tonya(Craig), eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Monday, November 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, with his Pastor Frank Sherrill, Rev. Brenda Woods and Rev. Johnny Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery in the St. Clair community. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
