William "Billy" Godsey 81 of Grandview died Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Cumberland Medical Center.

Billy was born on February 16, 1939 in Cumberland County, Tennessee to the late Norman and Ocie Mae Reed Godsey. He was a graduate of Spring City High School and served his country in the United States Army. Billy spent his work ing career as a custodian for the Tennessee Valley Authority at Watts Bar. He could fix anything; especially lawnmowers! Billy also enjoyed gardening. He loved his family and loved to spoil his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Billy attended the Reed's Chapel Church of God.

He was also preceded in death b y his son Billy Doyle Godsey Sr ., brothers Willie "Bud" Godsey, Willis Godsey , Ellis "Curley" Godsey and Bobby Godsey and his sister Mildred Jones.

Billy is survived his wife of 57 years Jewell Morris Godsey of Grandview, daughter Vanessa (David) McClung of Grandview, brothers Kenneth and Earnest Godsey both of Dayton, Ohio, sisters Masel Reed of Spring City, Emma Lee Caruthers of Clarksville, Tennessee and Gladys Evans of West Virginia, f ive grandchildren Billy Doyle (Brand i ) Godsey Jr, David (Grayson) McClung Jr., Chasity (Jay) Wright, Ashley (Randall) Randolph and Nichole McClung, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 2:00 pm EST at the Reed's Chapel Church of God in Grandview with Rev. Steve Taylo r officiating. Interment will follow in the Reed Cemetery with military honors . The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 12 pm until the time of services . Due to Covid19 concern s, attendees are requested to wear a mask to the services and visitation.
