William E "Bill" Thedford age 79 of Spring City , o n the birthday of our King, December 25, 2021 was called home by his Savior Jesus Christ. He went peacefully and in the home that he loved. Bill has accomplished much through his life, but the greatest was the love he had for his Savior , family and friends. His other passion was traveling and seeing the wonders God created, wri ti ng and his dog "Bob" . He will be sorely missed. A great void has been left in our hearts and lives, but we know we will be together again someday and rejoice!

Bill was a lifetime resident of Spring City and was born on June 15, 1942. He was a graduate of Spring City High School and retired from Martin-Marietta after over 20 years. In the 1970's, he started the Red Dogs Football Association. Bill also served on the Rhea County Commission and was on the original Board of Directors of the Rhea County 911 committee. He was also a member of the Spring City Jaycees when the y built the bridge over the creek in Veterans Park. Bill was an accomplished author, publishing three books. He was a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Miles Allen and Hilda Gates Thedford, his son Jeremy Sheaks, his granddaughter Summer Thedford Harris and his brother Jack Thedford.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Thedford of Spring City and his children Billy (Amanda) Thedford, Sherry Thedford Motes and Julia Thedford Qualls all of Spring City, Michele Anderson of Harriman, Nick (Jen) Sheaks of Columbus Grove, Ohio and Sarah (Rick) Sampson of Harriman , 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday December 28 , 2021 at 2:30pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday December 28, 2021 at Vaughn Funeral Home from 1pm until time of services. Memorials can be made to Alzheimer's Assoc iation at alz.org
