Wayne Martin 77, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Crossville, Tennessee.

Wayne was born in the Alloway Community of Cumberland County, TN on May 27, 1944 to Hattie Thompson Martin and Jerry Victor Martin.  He grew up on a farm in the Alloway Community and loved being outside with cows and chickens.  Wayne was a faithful member of Mercy Baptist Church in the Grandview Community of Rhea County, not far from where he grew up.  He loved the Lord and singing, sometimes solo's in the church.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leland Winfred Martin, his sisters Geraldine Martin Evans and Betty Martin Pendleton, his grandparents William Oliver Thompson and Louella Collins Thompson, James Martin and Mary Catherine Murray Martin, his brothers-in-law Fred Pogue, J. C. Spurlin, Glen Pendleton and Willard Evans and his sister-in-law Myrtice Martin.

He is survived by his sisters Imogene Martin Pogue of Kingston, TN and special sister Lois Martin Spurlin of the Alloway Community in Cumberland County, T N , h is nephews Norman (Wilma) Evans of Cleveland, TN , Fred Pogue of Kingston, TN, Dwight Spurlin of the Alloway Community, Ron Pendleton (Tracy Denny) of Sulphur Springs, IN, his nieces Loretta (Steve) Walker of Rockwood, TN, Karen Spurlin of Ocala, FL, Stacy (Alex) Ferda of Fallbrook, CA and Debra (Cliff) Wilkinson of Hagerstown, IN.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 1:30 pm EDST at the Harris Cemetery in the Alloway Community with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 noon EDST to 1:00 pm EDST at Vaughn Funeral Home.
