Verna M. Morgan , 86 , died Sun day , September 9, 2018 at Rhea Medical Center.

Born in Monterey, Tennessee , s he was the daughter of the late Shirley and Pearlie Whitaker Matheney . Verna was a nurse at Rhea Medical Center for 30 years and retired in 1994.  She was a member of Cranmore Cove Baptist Church in Dayton .  Verna loved her church and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Ed Johnson , Mack Thurman and Ralph Morgan, brother s Dewey, Tom and Cordell Matheney a nd sister Willie Snodderly .

Survivors include her sons Rick (Susan) Johnson of Spring City and Kenneth (Jerri) Johnson of Crossville, sisters Anna Presley and Mollie Matthews both of Monterey , three granddaughters Carrie, Amy and Karyn , several great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild .

A graveside service will be held Fri day , September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p m EST at the Welch Cemetery in Monterey , Tennessee with Rev Bo bby Shaver officiating.  The family will receive friends Thurs d ay from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home .
