Twila Diane Prost Tanner age 74 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga .

She was born on June 15, 194 8 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Twila's father Alvin Prost was career Navy stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. She was sent to Fair B luff, North Carolina to live with G randmother Strickland and attend school. After Twila's father was medically discharged, the family moved to Westminster, California. She was a graduate of La Quinta High School in California. In August of 1974 , Twila enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served her country for six years. Twila continued to travel with her husband retiring as a Forestry Service Administrator in 2011. She enjoyed painting, crafting, and fishing.

Twila is preceded in death by her parents Alvin W. and Christine Strickland Pro st.

Survivors include her husband Reed Tanner of Spring City, Tennessee; sisters Gwen (Tony) Phillips of Owasso, Oklahoma and LeeAnn Bossler of Spring City, Tennessee; her dog "Rusty"; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Bap tist Church in Spring City, T ennessee with Rev. Brian Price officiating. She will be interred in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. There will be no visitation.
