S usie Pauline Riggs McDonald Buckner, 77 of Evensville died Wednes day , December 8 , 20 21 at her home.

Born on August 12, 1944, Susie was a long time resident Rhea County. She was a graduate of Tyner High School and served in the U. S. Army. Susie enjoyed growing roses and fishing.  She was proud of her Native American Heritage and liked to attend pow wows in the area.  Susie was a member of the Spring City Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Burnis Ray Buckner , her mother Mamie Riggs Brown, her father John Thomas McDonald, her grandparents Gaither and Ruthie Riggs and her sons-in-law John T. Swafford Jr. and Gerald Smith Jr.

Survivors include her son s Dwayne Buckner of Evensville, Lewis Buckner, Bethany, MO, and Butch Buckner of Kansas , her daughters Linda Swafford of Spencer, TN and Debbie (Jimmy) Pickren of Brunswick, GA , her brothers Marvin (Valera) Gore, Benton, KY, James Brown of Jamestown, TN, Lee Roy Brown of Minorsburg, PA, Joe (Dorothy) McDonald of Pikeville, Bobby (Cynthia) McDonald of Twin City, GA and Marion McDonald of Dayton, her sisters Susan (Jackie) Stinnett of Dayton and Louise McDonald of Spring City, her companion of 11 years and a very good caregiver Jerry (Jake) Weston Sr. of Evensville , several grandchildren and great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews and family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Sun d ay, December 12 , 20 21 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. James Dunn officiating. I nterment with military honors will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sun day from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the funeral home .
