Stewart Bruce Fugate, 86, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at U. T. Medical Center in Knoxville from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

A lifetime resident of Spring City, Bruce was the son of the late Clement and Pearl Kincannon Fugate.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.  Before his retirement, Bruce was an employee of Suburban Manufacturing for 31 years.  He was a member of the High Point Baptist Church in Spring City.

Bruce was preceded in death by his brothers Frank and Max Fugate and sisters Madge McClendon, Katherine McClendon, Cora Charlene Green and Mathel Fugate.

Survivors include his wife Cora W. Fugate of Spring City, sons Felix (Sharon) Fugate of Spring City and Ray (Shelley) Fugate of Dayton, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Mitchell and Rev. Jeff Sadler officiating.  Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
