Obituary

Spencer Allyn Hilke, age 23, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away suddenly on January 8, 2022 at Chippenham Hospital , Richmond, VA .

Spencer and his twin (Nicolette) were born on July 29, 1998 to Ric hard "Rick" and Luana Hilke in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He graduated from Clover Hill High School in Mid lothian, Virginia, in 2017. He then received his Associates degree in Graphic Design from John Tyler Community College in August 2019 . As President of the Art Club , he coordinated two trips for club members to New York City. He really came into his own during that time. He enjoyed the Club's times together but especially enjoyed his trips to New York.

Spencer was one of the most honest, gentle, loving and caring souls there were. He LOVED to play video games . H is favorite was Halo. Over the years, m any bonded with him , along with his partners in the gaming community, by play ing Halo and a number of titles and consoles . He had recently hosted a Game Night where 15 friends participated in playing a variety of consoles, board games and card games .

Spencer also loved to draw . His ear ly years began with his drawings of dinosaurs as he gradually progressed to highly detailed, magnificent creations of his own design . He was also creating whole back-stories for game ideas and logos for motorsport events. And h e was often seen showing his most recent creations to his friends, family and church family.

Spencer and Nicolette were very close. They often spent hours staying up late laughing as they watched YouTube videos . She would sit by Spencer work ing on her artistic renderings while he played on his favorite gaming system, the Xbox. He just enjoyed having her nearby. Spencer also enjoyed making one-off creations in the kitchen, going pier fishing, volunteering at auto races and spending quality time with mom or sister for a quiet head rub.

Spencer was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harry Hilke; maternal grandparents, Moses and Louisa Smalls ; Uncle Moses Smalls ; Aunt Glenna Linebarger Turner ; and Uncle Charles Linebarger .

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Luana Hilke , North Chesterfield, VA ; his twin, Nicolette Hilke , North Chesterfield, VA ; grandmot her, Sharon Hilke, Spring City, TN; Aunt Cheryl Asher , Sicklerville, NJ; Aunt Barbar a Linebarger, Okeechobee, FL; Aunt Krishna Stevens (Bret), Dallas, TX ; Uncle Paul Smalls (Kinyta), San Juan, P.R.; Aunt Karen Thomas (John), Northridge, CA; Uncle Rob ert Linebarger, Dayton, TN; Aunt Eva Hamp ton (James ), Spring City, TN; and cousins: Taylor Marcus (Shea), Justin Marcus, Erica Eberle (Chris), Ryan Asher, Jocelyn Stevens, Lauren Stevens, Michael Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Charles Linebarger Jr. (Mandie), Cody Linebarger (Stacie), Christopher Hanson, Bradley Hanson (Tanda), Landon Hampton, and Wyatt Hampton .

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 2:00pm (1:00pm pre-service fellowship) at Bliley's--Chippenham , 6900 Hull Street Rd., Richmond, VA 23224 with Jay Liverman officiating. Due to the pandemic, state guidelines will prevail. The family requests that masks be worn inside the service. An invite-only reception will be held following the service.
