Sherry Lynn "DI" Guffey, 56 died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Born on July 10, 1964, Sherry was a lifetime resident of Spring City.  She was a seamstress and had worked for the La-Z-Boy Corporation for many years .  Sherry was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with her family and being around children .  She attended of the Victory Baptist Church.

Sherry was preceded in death by father Johnny Junior Smith.

Survivors include her mother Joann M. Smith of Spring City, sister Trisha (Scott) Pletcher of Benton Harbor, Michigan, brothers Bill (Lisa) Smith of Delton, Michigan, Paul (Natalie) Smith and Earl (Naomi) Smith both of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Johnnie (Tara) Smith of Knoxville.

Funeral services are Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Sherrill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Spring City.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
