Sally Jo Reed Lowery age 78 of Crossville, Tennessee went home to heaven on August 20, 2023.

She was born on April 1, 1945, the seventh of eight children of the late Stanley and Arthie Edwards Reed of the Grandview community. Sally loved serving the Lord and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Crossville, Tennessee. She spent 36 years in the Townsend community selling quilts – she was commonly greeted as "hello quilt woman." Sally loved being in Townsend and spent many happy trips to Cades Cove.

Sally was also preceded in death by her husband Johnny Lowery of Grandview, Tennessee, brothers Floyd "Junior" Reed, Ben Reed, Cartis Reed, Arville (Cobb) Reed, and William Reed, and her sister Beulah Cox.

Survivors include her daughters Jan (Eddy) Hamilton of Memphis, Tennessee and Sherry (Jim) Rogers of Friendsville, Tennessee; precious granddaughters Shan Hamilton (Harley) McLean of Moscow, Tennessee and Megan Rogers of Friendsville, Tennessee; great grandchildren Ashlynn, Anson and Alden McLean; her brother Jesse (Shirley) Reed of Grandview, Tennessee; her loving family friend Richard Whitted of Grandview, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. eastern time in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Kern officiating. Interment will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
