Roxie Cawood Gibson of Nashville p assed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 after a brief illness.

Born in Spring City to Ethel and James Cawood, Roxie is survived by her husband Jim Gibson of Nashville, grandson, Aidan and daughter-in-law, Robin, Cookeville, Tennessee , nephew Harry Landreth, Spring City and niece Sharon Dines, Spring City . She was predeceased by her son, Jimmy Gibson and siblings, Margaret Cawood Scholz , Lucille Cawood Mayberry, Buddy Cawood and Bill Cawood.

Roxie was a deacon and elder at First Presbyterian Church, Nashville.

For more than forty years, Roxie loved the children of Oak Hill School in the classroom, dining hall, prayer room and hallways. She was Head Angel, tooth puller and dispenser of Skittles.

Between 1971 and 2020 she authored over a dozen installments in her 'Hey God!' Series of children's books plus many other volumes that pointed children of all ages, 'with utmost love to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.' Several of the 'Hey God!' books were the basis of musical productions and records in collaboration with Ken Krause, one of which was nominated for a Grammy award.

A private graveside service will be held in the Spring City Cemetery .
