Robert L. Thurman, 75, died Monday, April 15, 2019 at Rhea Medical Center .

A lifetime resident of Spring City , Robert was the son of the late Lloyd B. and Pearl Wade Thurman.  He was a graduate of Spring City High School.  Robert was the co- owner of T & M Lawn m ower s for 52 years.  He was a member of the Rhea Springs Lodge #310 F. & A. M.  Robert enjoyed farming, raising cattle and studying his bible.  He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Robert was also preceded in death by his son Stanley Thurman.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Lilah Thomas Thurman of Spring City, son Randy (Christie) Thurman of Oak Ridge, s ister Betty Jo ("Chick") Purser of Spring City, grandchildren Cole (Sarah) Thurman of Spring City, Kenzie (Josh) Jenkins of Dayton, Kaitlyn Thurman of Loudon, Tennessee, and great grandchildren Andie, Tenley and Elliot Thurman, Camryn Reed and Lillian and Jaylyn Jenkins.

Funeral services are Thurs day, April 18 , 2019 at 4:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thurs day from 2:00 p m to 4:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
