Robert Clifford Newby Jr., 81 of Spring City went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Born on August 3, 1939 in Lafollette, Tennessee, Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  After his time of service in the military, Robert worked at Lockheed-Martin working on the C5A aircraft.  He also worked as a security officer at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant.  Robert was proud of his family and his work in our community . He was a member of the Spring City Historical Society , working to open the Spring City Museum. Robert was a member of Central Baptist Church in Spring City. His smile will be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ophia Monday Newby Sr. and his brother Roger Newby.

Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Claudia Woodard Newby, his sons Robert (Kathy) C. Newby III, Mark Anthony Newby and Dustin Lane Newby, his sister Rhonda (Steve) Walker and several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at t he Spring City Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
