Robert Houston Hamby, 70, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at his home.

A longtime resident of Spring City, Houston was the son of the late Theodore and Dovie Hite Hamby.  He was a self-employed carpenter and of the Pentecostal faith.

Houston was preceded in death by his brother Daniel "Dan" Hamby, infant brother William David Hamby and sisters Julia Loden and Audra Spurlin.

Survivors include his wife Diane Ezell Hamby of Spring City, children Lisa (Matt) Bauer of Spring City and Samuel Hamby of Chattanooga, sisters Mary Waldo of Crossville and Esther Durham of Cookeville, grandchildren Dylan Jenkins, Garrett (Merrett) Jenkins and Brandy (Daniel) Headlee and great grandchild Audrey Headlee.

Funeral services are Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Tidwell and Rev. Terry Swaw officiating.  Interment will be in the Harris Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
