Robert D. "Radio" Hillis Jr., 77 died Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at his home .

Born on January 12, 1943 in Warren County, Tennessee, Robert was the son of the late Robert D. and Frances Hanes Hillis Sr.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. Robert moved from South Pittsburg, Tennessee to the Spring City community in 1975. He retired from TVA – Watts Bar after 23 years of service. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post #100, VFW – Post #4708, DAV, AmVet , Vietnam Veteran ' s Association and the TVA VA. He attended the Spring City Church of Christ.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife Flonnie Edwards Hillis.

Survivors include his stepson Dwight Ray of Grandview, stepdaughters Kim (Mike) Fuson of Spring City and Tracy Luna of Gallatin, Tennessee, brother Lonnie Hillis of Nashville and special grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services with military honors will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.  Interment will be in the New Union Cemetery in McMinnville, Tennessee.  The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
