Phyllis J. Thurman, 76 , died Thurs day, July 4 th , 20 19 at Spring City Health Care .

A lifetime resident of Grandview, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Lonas and Cleo Hinch Edwards.  She was a graduate of Spring City High School and worked several years for the City of Spring City as a clerk .  Phyllis was a master gardener of vegetables and flowers.  She loved to can and freeze vegetables for her f amily.  Phyllis attended Reed's Chapel Church of God in Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her husband Casto Thurman, sister Joyce Wiggins and brothers Buddy Edwards and Joe Edwards.

Survivors include her daughters Kim Ford of Crossville and Gayla Hood of Grandivew , sister Evadine Pyle of Grandview and grandchildren Ben Fo rd of Crossville, Emily Ford of Charlottesville, VA and Branson Hood of Grandview .

Funeral services are Saturday July 6th, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Davis officiating.  Interment will be in the Johnson Stand Cemetery in Grandview.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Vaughn Funeral Home.
