Paul Smith age 89 of Crossville, Tennessee died on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the Life Care Center of Crossville.

He was born on July 8, 1935 to the late Joseph and Lula Lee Watson Smith and was a lifetime resident of the area. Paul attended school at Spring City High School. He served his county in the United States Army. Paul started Smith Brothers Well Drilling and traveled to projects all around the country, including Hawaii. He also served two terms as the Sheriff of Rhea County. Paul was of the Pentecostal faith.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife Marcia Smith, his son Mike Smith, his brothers Boyd, Leonard, Owen "Coxey", and Oliver Smith, and his sisters Faye Styf, Paula Bowman, and Maxine Gaines.

Survivors include his daughters Minnie (Danny) Galyon of Harriman, Tennessee and Sandra (Clayton) Turner of Crossville, Tennessee; his brother Max (Mary) Smith of Spring City, Tennessee; his sisters Christine McCabe of Spring City, Tennessee, Juanita Ballard of Grand Haven, Michigan, and Lula (Bill) Manchester of Augusta, Georgia; his three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Spring City Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Glazier officiating. There will be no visitation.
