Opal Lee Thompson, 86 died Monday, October 5, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

Born on May 21, 1934, Opal was a lifetime resident of Spring City.  She retired from Ka y ser-Roth in 1997.  She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.  Opal especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She attended Victory Baptist Church in Spring City.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents Darist and Bethel Lawson McFalls, her husband Eugene "Gene" Thompson , her brother Robert McFalls, sisters Emmagean Thompson, Pearl Thompson, Edna Ruth Riggs, Ruby Morris and Martha Jane "Monkey" Alexander.

Survivors include her children John (Janet) Thompson, Bethel "Timmy" (Raymond) Fine, Charbo (Tonda) Thompson and Jimmy Thompson all of Spring City, sister JoAnn Smith of Spring City, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thurs day, October 8 , 2020 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Waldo officiating .  Interment will be in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Spring City .  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
