​ Michael Alfred Thomas, 60, of Kingsport, TN went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville, TN after an extended illness.  He was born in Dayton, TN on December 11, 1961 to Lewis A. & Maxine Thomas.  He grew up in Spring City and graduated from Rhea County High School, Class of 1979.

​ He had lived in Kingsport most of his life.  He traveled all over with his job before being located to Kingsport.  Mike was a supervisor in the maintenance department at Domtar.

​ Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved spending time with family and his dog, Scrappy, being goofy and making people laugh.

​ He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis A. Thomas.

​ Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rachelle Glynn and Courtney (Eddie) Necessary; mother, Maxine Goss Thomas; brother, Gregory Scott Thomas; sister, LaTrisha Hartman; his dog, Scrappy ; and many other loved family members; special friends, Tonya Hester, Marc y Short, Terri Thomas, Matt Cooper and Pastor Paul Sheaffer.

​ A Celebration of Life was held on June 28, 2022 at West Hills Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN of which he was a member with Pastor Paul Sheaffer officiating.
