Obituary

Max Franklin Godbehere, 73, died Sunday, January 28, 2018 at his home.

Born in Spring City, Max was the son of the late Thomas Parker and Mattie Knox Godbehere. He worked in the construction industry for many years. Max moved from Battle Creek, Michigan back to the Spring City community in 2008. He loved to go to flea markets as a vendor and loved to tinker with cars. Max was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his infant children Wilma Jean, Tennie Savannah and Thomas Allen Godbehere, sisters Nora Mae Rector, Sarah Eldridge, Ruby Dean and Clemmie Hard and brothers James Clifford and William Parker Godbehere.

Survivors include his son Woodrow "Woody" (Brenda) Godbehere of Darlington, South Carolina, daughter Mattie (Jeff) Hilley of Florence, South Carolina, stepson David (Donna) Thorp of Burlington, Michigan, special niece Virginia Holmes of Spring City, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services are Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Wolf Creek Cemetery with Rev. Susan Harper officiating.
