Mary Jo Manning Wheeler, 89 , passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at home in Knoxville.

A native of East Tennessee, Mary Jo was born on April 17, 1929 to the late John K. and Maude Smith Manning. She worked as a nurse at Chamberlain Memorial Hospital in Rockwood for 40 years. Ma r y Jo loved to cook. She was a member of the West End Church of Christ in Knoxville.

Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband Carl Rayburn Wheeler and granddaughter Rebecca Ann Wheeler-Thomas.

She is survived by her children Sheila Wheeler and Sherry Wheeler both of Knoxville, Terry (Desiree) Wheeler of Oak Ridge and Dr. Rick (Kelli) Manning of Ashland City, Tennessee, grandchildren Ethan and Micah Wheeler of Oak Ridge, great grandchildren Emily Jacobson and Tyler Thomas and very special great, great grandchildren Kenyon and Ava.

A private family service will be held in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Mini ster Todd Houston officiating.  The cremains will be interred in the Spring City Cemetery.  Visitation will be private.
