Mary Ann Kiefer age 80 died Saturday October 20, 2018 at the Rhea Medical Center .

Born in Louisville Kentucky , s he was the d aughter of the late Victor Hugo and Alleen Mangold Shotwell . Mary was a loving homemaker , who had a deep passion for animals "she never met a stray she didn't want to keep". She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed doing ceramics. Mary also volunteered at the Rhea of Sunshine. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church and the St. Bridget's Women's Council .

Mary is preceded in death by h er brother Hugh Victor Shotwell.

Survivors include h er husband of 60 years T homas J. Kiefer of Dayton, her children David (Mitzi) Kiefer of Knoxville, Suzanne Kiefer of Dayton, Christopher (Christina) Kiefer of Colorado Springs, Colorado, her brother John Robert Shotwell of Indep endence , Kentucky , and grandchildren , Michael Petro, Elyssa Robbins, Sarah Kiefer, Shauna Mack ey , Phillip Kiefer, and Christopher Kiefer .

A funeral mass will be Monday October 29, 2018 at 11 A M at St. Bridget 's Catholic Church with Father Sam Sturm officiating. The fam ily will receive friends Monday from 1 0 A M until the time of services at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Dayton. Her ashes will be buried in the Spring City Memorial Gardens.
