Martha Emma Pritchett, 76, died Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at her home.
A lifetime resident of Spring City, Emma was the daughter of the late Ben and Dessie Hill Smith. She was a graduate of Spring City High School Class of 1959.
She worked for Kayser Roth Hosiery Mill in Dayton for 47 years and retired in 2005. She was a member of the High Point Baptist Church.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband George Lee Pritchett, brother Gordon Smith and infant siblings Henry Franklin Smith and Laura Mae Smith.
Survivors include her children Kim Housley of Spring City, Karen (Jesse Carter) Hale of Dayton and Etta (Dale) Watson of Spring City, sister Mag Ingle of Rossville, Georgia, grandchildren Nic, Ryan, Darius, Tedra, Daniel, Chelsea and Chase, very special great grandchildren Kendra, Misty, Lexie, Cassie, Brett, Kyleigh, Drake, Cameron and Liam and special dog Molly.
Funeral services are Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Wolf Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. The body will lie in state one hour before the services at the church. Interment will follow in the Add Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Emma preferred that memorial contributions be made to the Wolf Creek Baptist Church, 5225 Wolf Creek Road, Spring City, TN 37381 or the Yellow Creek Baptist Church 7170 Old Dixie Highway, Spring City, TN 37381 because both church families exemplify a genuine love to others. A special thanks to all the loving friends and family through the years and to Hearth Hospice for their way of showing that same love.
