Obituary

Marquetia Fisher Rankin, 65, of Spring City passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Marquetia was born in Aiken, South Carolina to Kenneth and Helen Miller Fisher.  She was a member of the Rockwood United Methodist Church.  Marquetia graduated from Rockwood High School and the University of Tennessee Knoxville (summa cum laude).  She was an educator in Rhea County for many years and taught English and Art at Rhea Count y High School.  Marquetia's late husband, Jim Rankin, was also an educator for Rhea County .

She was also preceded in death by her father Kenneth Fisher and brother Donald Fisher .

Marquetia is survived by her mother Helen Fisher of Rockwood, Tennessee, brother Rev. Ron (Becca) Fisher of Sweetwater, Tennessee, nephew Caleb Fisher and niece Olivia Fisher and beloved dog Willie .

She will be buried next to her husband in Oak Grove Cemetery in a p rivate graveside service.
