Mark Miekstyn, 68, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Mark was the son of the late Edward J. and Isabell M. Simonen Miekstyn. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired from AT & T after 25 years of service. Mark and his wife, Ernestine, moved from Michigan to the Spring City community in 1999. He was of the Catholic faith.

Mark was preceded in death by his son Dean R. Miekstyn and sister Monica Zalewski.

He is survived by his wife Ernestine Miekstyn of Spring City, daughter Tracy Lee (Stanley) Statham of Franklinton, Louisiana, brother Matthew Miekstyn of Hamtramck, Michigan, sister Marcia (Michael) Opland of South Branch, Michigan, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services with military honors will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Dr. Stanley Statham officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
