Obituary

Marilyn M. Cooksey, 71, died Friday, January 17, 2020 at her home.

Born in Meridian, Mississippi on January 20, 1948, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Burbin Maxwell and Ima Jewel Mayo Moon.  She was a graduate of Meridian High School and the University of Southern Mississippi.  Marilyn was a teacher and retired from the Rhea County Department of Education after 23 years of service.  She and her husband, Glenn, moved from Luling, Louisiana to the Spring City community in 1993.  Marilyn was a member of the Spring City United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Bos o m Buddy's Cancer Support Group and the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband Glenn Cooksey of Spring City, sons Chris (Amanda) Cooksey of Channel View, Texas, Scott (Amanda) Cooksey of New Orleans, Louisiana and Rick (Laura) Figueroa, Brenham, Texas, sister Leda (Ken) Roberts of McMinnville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Satur day, January 25 , 2020 at 11:00 a m at the Spring City United Methodist Church with Dr. Mike Jackson officiating .
