Margie E. Hamby, 69, died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at her home.

Born o n November 16, 1950 in Spring City , Margie was the daughter of the late Perry Thomas Edwards and Mary Lee McCampbell Edwards Sea ls.  She was co-valedictorian of her c lass at Spring City High School.  Margie graduated from University of Tennessee at Knoxville with double degrees in Education and Library Science. She taught English at Spring City High School and was the Librarian at Rhea Central in Dayton. Margie lived in Maryville, Alaska then moved back to her hometown. She was an avid reader, enjoyed research and loved cats and dogs. Margie was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Susie Wilkey and Ruth Woody, her brother R oss Edwards, her son Brandt William Alexander Hamby and gran ddaughter Amelia Hamby .

Survivors include her children Jessica Hamby and Juliet (Chris) Hamby both of Jonesborough, Tennessee , Bain (Bobbie) Sutton, Alaska, Boone (Karen) Hamby and Baron Hamby both of Jonesborough, Tennessee, sisters Jean Skelf i of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, Linda (Danny) Johnson of Cleveland, Tennessee and Debra (Robert) Howard of Dayton, brothers Clifford (Kathy) Edwards of Spring City and George (Linda) Edwards of Aquasco , Maryland, grandchildren Klara, Conner , Savannah, Eli ja and Emery and several nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Spring City Memorial Gardens.  There will be no visitation.
