Luther Leon Morris age 82 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on December 10, 1940 in Harriman, Tennessee to the late George W. and Myrtle May Reed Morris. Luther attended school in Harriman. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Vietnam Vet for 21 years, retiring as a U.S. Senior Chief Petty Officer. All three of his sons served in the military as well. After retiring from the Navy, Luther worked at Great Lakes Steel in Michigan and finally retired from Dayton Products. He liked to fish, hunt, read westerns, and pan for gold. Luther also loved Big Band Music as well as bluegrass and country. He was of the Baptist faith.

Luther is preceded in death by his wife AdelfaCelestial Morris, his brother Jimmy Morris, and his great grandchild Maliki Beard.

Survivors include his children George Morris of Iloilo, Philippines, Deborah (Mark) Zettel of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Glenn (Jennifer) Morris of Hixson, Tennessee, Gary (Melanie) Morris of Dracut, Massachusetts, Donna Mingle (Calen Woodell) of Harriman, Tennessee, and Darlene (Brett) Holton of Spring City, Tennessee; his sisters Wilma Jean McGeorge of Land O Lakes, Florida, and Nancy Shelton of Monroe, Michigan; his 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
