Lillian Elizabeth Burton , 81 of Grandview passed away on Friday, November 27 , 2020 at her home .

Born on March 14, 193 9 in California , Lillian w as the daughter of the late Walter and Lillian (Boyce) Montgomery . Lillian was previously a resident of Ohio and had moved to Rhea C ounty where she has been a resident for over 25 years. Lillian was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting in her retirement. She was also an animal lover.  Lillian was a graduate of St. Moni ca High School in Pacific Palisades , California . She was a member of th e Mercy Missionary Baptist Church in Grandview.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Laura Mae Harrison and her brother William Montgomery.

Survivors include her husband John Burton of Grandview, her step daughters Paulette ( Ralph) Walker of La Grange, OH , Julia (Philip) Zimmerman of Spring City , TN, Vikki (Hugh) Johnson of Evansville, TN, and her step sons John (Rebecca) Burton Jr. of Red Bank, TN, and Tom (Angie) Burton of Dayton, TN, 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday , November 29 , 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Mercy Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Philip Zimmerman and Rev. James Rogers officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Sulpher Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
