June P. Tallent age 91 of Spring City, Tennessee died on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 4, 1934 to the late Brace and Mildred Julian Peavyhouse and was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. June graduated from Tennessee Tech University. She spent her working career at both the Southern Silk Mill and retired from Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. June and her late husband Jim Ed Tallent were married on December 9, 1956 and were married for 51 years before he passed away. She was of the Methodist faith.

June was preceded in death by her sister Norma Jean Dewitt and her brother Jim Peavyhouse.

Survivors include her sons Wes Tallent and Eric (Beverly) Tallent both of Spring City, Tennessee; her daughter Karen Tallent of Spring City, Tennessee; her four grandchildren Amber (Chris) Dover of Spring City, Tennessee, Brad Tallent of New Hampshire, Brittany (Dakota) Stinnett of Birchwood, Tennessee, and Sally (Chris) Gates of Spring City, Tennessee; and her ten great grandchildren Preston, Braylon, Kylie, Emily, Drew, Preston, Madelyn, Brady, Casey, and Evelyn.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Forgey officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Vaughn Funeral Home.
