Joyce Davenport Thurman , 87 died Satur day, October 10 , 20 20 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on November 16, 1932, Joyce was a lifetime resident of Spring City. She was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School.  Joyce was a seam s tress and worked for SSM Manufacturing in Spring City before retiring.  She loved to sew, quilt and cook for various church activities.  Joyce was a member of the Spring City Church of God.

She was preceded in death by parents Raymond and Gertie Wright Roberts, her husband of 17 years, Kenneth Davenport, her brothers Falvis Roberts and Dennis Roberts and her sister Genevie Balcom.

She is survived by her daughters Loretta (Ron) Masterson of Spring City, Nina (Jerry) Daniel of Pikeville and Annette (Joe) Kimery of Chattanooga, brother Herschel Roberts of Dayton, seven grandchildren and eight gre at grandchildren.

Funeral services are Wednes day , October 14, 20 20 at 5:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Smith and Rev. Allen Taylor officiating.  Interment will follow in the Long Cemetery in Spring City.  The family will receive friends Wednes day from 4:00 p m to 5:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
