Joyce M. Reid, 71 died Thurs day, September 17 , 20 20 at Laurelbrook Nursing Home.

Born in St. Petersburg , Florida on February 28, 1949, Joyce was the daughter of the late Sherman A. and Marian Renney Ownbey Jr.  She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. B. E. LeNoir for over 20 years and retired in 2007.  Joyce loved flower gardening.  She was very creative and also enjoyed working with crafts. Joyce liked to socialize and help people.  She was a member of the Bogle ' s Chapel B aptist Church in Spring City.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. "Bob" Reid and her brothers Leon S. Ownbey and Jerry Ownbey.

Survivors include her daughter Kara Reid (John) Tighe of Spring City , son Steve Embree of Spring City, granddaughter Shelby Embree, stepsons Shannon Reid of Jasper, Alabama and Kelly Reid of Loudon, Tennessee and her Maltese dog "Ziva" .

A private f uneral service will be held in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Revis officiating.  Interment will be in the Spring City Cemetery. Visitation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at Alz. org.
