John Vaughn, 42 died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Rhea Medical Center .

Born on June 14, 1978, John was a lifetime resident of Dayton.  He graduated from Rhea County High School and Vanderbilt University.  John was co-owner of Richland Park Center and owner of Richland Wine & Spirits and Atlas Gym.  He loved to fly fish, spend time on the farm and woodworking; John could work on anything. His love of animals included cats and dogs .  John was a member of the New Union Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father James W. "Bill" Vaughn .

Survivors include his wife Stacy Vaughn of Dayton, mother Christine Vaughn of Dayton, sisters Cheryl Vaughn of Dayton and Denise Hicks of Chattanooga, brothers Will Dodd of Monroe, Michigan and Kevin Cochran of Chattanooga, his cats "Yeager", "Itsy", "Isis", "Baby", "Bruce", and "Harry" and dogs "Amos", "Copper" and "Sage".

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Rhea Memory Gardens with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton. Due to COVID-19 concerns and f or the safety and respect of all, masks are required and no food is allowed to be served at this time.
