John Samuel Phillips, 57 , died Wednes day, April 3 , 20 19 at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.

A longtime resident of Signal Mountain, John was the son of the late Leroy Phillips Jr. and Blinn Posey Phillips. John was a special man and a kind soul. He loved college football ; especially the UT Vols .  John was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his brother Tom (Debra) Phillips of Spring City, sister s Lisa (Jim) Garner of Signal Mountain and Michelle (Scott) Schrader of Chattanooga , nephews Matthew and Joseph Garner and William and Nico Schrader and nieces Jenny Garner, Lori Taylor and Elizabeth Schrader .

Graveside services are Satur day, April 6 , 20 19 at 2:00 p m in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Brian Price officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chattanooga Food Bank at www.chattfoodbank.org.
