Obituary

John C. Beavers, 88, died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his home.


A lifetime resident of Evensville, John was the son of the late Floyd Roscoe and Nellie Beasley Beavers.  He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served during the Korean Conflict.  John retired from the textile industry.  He was a member of the Spoken Word Ministries in Ten Mile, Tennessee and the American Legion, Brady-Williams Post #100 in Dayton.


John was preceded in death by his sons Randy Beavers and Billy Popas,

grandson Joshua King, and sisters Sylvia Newell and Marvine Pittard.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years Betty Yoder Beavers of Evensville, sons Johnny Beavers of Rossville, Georgia, Mark (Angie) Beavers of Evensville, Eugene (Pricilla) Shaffner of Louisville, Kentucky and David (Terri) Allen of Chandler, Texas, daughters Lesia (Johnny) Meeks of Evensville, Linda Walker of Louisville, Kentucky and Sheena (Ernie) Kilgore of Rossville, Georgia, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hyde officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
