Joann Smith, 77 of Spring City died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.

Born on March 22, 1944, Joann was a lifetime resident of Spring City .  She worked in food services and retired from the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.  Joann loved to play cards and work crossword puzzles.  S he was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Spring City.

Joann was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Lynn "DI" Guffey, her mother Bethel McFalls, sisters Ruby Morris, Martha Jane Alexander, Opal Thompson, Emmagean Thompson, Pearl Thompson and Edna Ruth Riggs , her brother Robert McFalls and her dog "Ginger" .

Survivors include her children Trisha (Scott) Pletcher, Benton Harbor, MI, Bill (Lisa) Smith of D elton, MI, Paul (Natalie) Smith of Kalamazoo, MI, Earl (Naomi) Smith o f Battle Creek, MI and Johnnie (Tara) Smith of Knoxville, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Fri day, May 14 , 2021 at 3:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev . Frank Sherrill officiating. Interment will follow in the Thompson Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Fri day from 1:00 pm to 3:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
