Joan Marie Bennett, 89, of Spring City, TN passed away at her home on Satur day, May 15, 2021.

She was born at home on September 27, 1931 in Columbia City, Indiana, the only daughter of eight children to Oscar and Hazel Felger Clifford . She married Thomas Adair Bennett in May 1955 and in 1965 the couple purchased Arrowhead Resort near Spring City which they operated until their retirement. They had two children, Vicki and Rob.

Always a wonderful seamstress, in retirement Joan pursued her sewing and crafting passions and participated in craft shows and teaching crafts for many years.

Preceding her in death are her parents, brothers Paul, Bob, Dick and Charles, her son Rob and her husband Thomas Adair Bennett .

She is survived by her daughter Vic ki Bennett of Spring City, TN, her daughter-in-law Louanne Bennett of Spring City, TN , two grandchildren, Kev in (Alexandra) Bennett of Irvington, NY and Kara (Austin Devin) Bennett of Chicago, IL, great granddaughter, Camille Bennett as well as th ree of her seven brothers, Fred Clifford of Mt. Grove, MO, Kenneth Clifford of Columbia City, IN, and Jerry Clifford of Auburn, IN.

A wake for Joan will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Back Porch Restaurant located at the Arrowhead Resort , 26 1 Bennett Drive, Spring City, TN  37381 .

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Hospitality House of Methodist Medical Foundation, PO Box 2529, Oak Ridge, TN 37831-9924
