Jerry Houston, 79 of Spring City died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Born on September 3, 1941, Jerry was a lifetime resident of Spring City.  He was a graduate of Spring City High School , Class of 1960.  Jerry was a veteran and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He worked for DuPont for 38 years before retiring.  Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Spring City First Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife Doris "Cowboy" Houston, his parents Bir dle and Laura Cunningham Houston and his brother Ed Houston.

Survivors include his children Freda (Michael) Hickey of Kingston, TN and Jason (Michelle) Houston of Spring City , his brothers Douglas Houston and Leon Houston both of Spring City, his sister Fran ces Harrison of Spring City and his grandchildren Ryan and Kade Houston and Chloe Jenkins .

Graveside service with military honors will be held on Sun day, July 25 , 2021 at 3:00 p m in the Spring City Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Schafer officiating.  Interment will be in the Spring City Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Sun day from 1:00 p m to 3:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
