James "Jimmy" S. Smith Jr., 70 died Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his residence on Rockwood Mountain.

A l ifetime resident of Rockwood , Jimmy was the son of the late James S. and Eilene Brown Smith Sr.  He was a graduate of Rockwood High School and received his law degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.  Jimmy practiced law for 46 years primarily in Roane Co, but also in a djoining counties.  He was the sitting Judge for the City of Rockwood . Jimmy loved to travel , especiall y overseas to Egypt, Costa Rica and several other countries . He always had a love of the outdoors, Jimmy loved to be outside planting things more than anything .

He was also preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Rhoden Smith.

Survivors include his daughter Ariel Regina Smith of Rockwood, grandson Jack Samuel Sexton of Rockwood and sister Susanne Fischer of Rockwood.

A memorial service will be announced at later date.
