Obituary

James "Jim" Garland Holloway Jr., 87, died Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.


A lifetime resident of Spring City, Jim was the son of the late Garland and Ann Fox Holloway.   He was an electrician and retired from the Rhea County Department of Education.  Jim was a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City.


He was preceded in death by his wife Willie Mae Holloway, sons-in-law Steve Reed and Zeb King, great granddaughter Clara Mae Moss and brothers Jack and John Holloway and an infant brother.


Jim is survived by his children Norma Reed, Walter (Patsy) Holloway, Carolyn Lee and Shirley King all of Spring City, brother Buddy (Betty) Holloway of Spring City, sister Barbara McClendon of Spring City, sisters-in-law Maxine Holloway of Red Bank, Tennessee and Blanche Miller of Crossville and Maxine Thomas of Spring City, brother-in-law Donnie (Margie) Thomas of Chatsworth, Georgia, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his dog  "Hercules" the Chihuahua.


Funeral services are Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Woods officiating.  Interment will be in the Spring City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
