James W. Ellis , 92 , died Wednes day , August 22, 2018 at the Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center.

A lifetime resident of Rhea County , James was the son of the late Foster and Lella Green Ellis.  He was a welder for over 40 years and retired in 1990 from Herman Grant Enterprise .  After his retirement, James continued to weld and paint cars and tractors.  James attended the Spring City Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mebbie M. Ellis, his brothers Bill, Calvin and Ralph Ellis and his sister Loretta Ellis.

James is survived by his son Walter (Sherry) Ellis of Dayton, his sister Vera Jones of Dangerfield, Texas, two grandchildren Jeff Ellis and Amber Ellis and four great grandchildren Ryan, Elizabeth, Isebella and Alanna Ellis.

Funeral services will be held Sun d ay, August 26 , 20 18 at 2:00 p m in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home . I nterment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens . The family will receive friends Satur day from 5:00 p m to 7:00 p m at Vaughn Funeral Home.
