Jack Sherman Phillips, 73, died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman.

Born in Wartburg, Tennessee, Jack was the son of the late John and Mary Kreis Phillips.  He moved from Clinton, Tennessee to the Spring City community in 1996.  Jack was a machinist/millwright and worked for the K-25 and Y-12 Plants for 30 years before retiring in 2004.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spring City.  Prior to his illness, Jack was very involved in his church.  He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge in Clinton, Tennessee.

Jack was preceded in death by his granddaughter Tora Kay Phillips, sister Sue Phillips Stewart and brother Tom Phillips.

He is survived by his wife Vicki W. Phillips of Spring City, children Julia McGill of Rockwood, Rick Phillips of Spring City, Elana (Calvin) Stewart of Lenior City, special friend Shane Phillips of Rockwood, grandchildren Jared McGill, Thomas McGill, Brandi Phillips, Christian Smith and Nathan (Cristina) Smith and Calvin Stewart and great grandchild Ariona Smith.

Funeral services are Friday, October 27, 2017 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Price officiating.  The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.  Interment will be Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the Roane Memorial Gardens.
