Jack D. "J. D." Pritchett age 81 died Saturday , December 21, 2019 at the Spring City Care and Rehab Center.

J. D. was born December 8, 1938 in Rhea Co. to the late George and Ada Pearl Henderson Pritchett. He was a graduate of Spring City High School where he was active in sports. J.D. was a graduate of Nashville School of Auctioneers ; License #303. He owned Pritchett Land and Auction Company for many years. He became a bailiff with the Rhea Co. Sheriff's Dept. in 1986 and worked there until his retirement. J.D. had been a Mason and also a Shriner. He was a member of High Point Baptist Church.

J. D. was also preceded in death by his wife Leona Sanders Meeks Pritchett, his brothers George, Bobby Joe, and Jim Pritchett and his sister Shirley Janow.

Survivors include his children Steve (Amber) Pritchett of Horton, AL, Ann Thomas of Georgia, Janet Walker of Calhoun, GA and Becky Thomas of Tennessee, his stepchildren Teddie Jane Clark of Crossville, Billy Meeks and Kellie Brown both of Spring City, his brother Larry Pritchett of Spring City, ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday December 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Vaugh n Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Schafer officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday December 22, 2019 from 2 to 5 pm. a t the funeral home.
