Helen Maxine McClure , 92 , passed away S atur day, July 2 0 , 20 19 at Golden Years Retirement Resort. A lifelong resident of Spring City , she was the daughter of the late John Milford and Alba Childes Simpson. She was a member of the Spring City First Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class, Maxine worked 21 years as a school nurse for the Rhea County school system and also worked in area hospital s . Maxine's enjoyment in her lifetime was traveling, gardening, nature and her friends, a wide variety of music, and Masterpiece Theater (especially Downton Abbey).

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Lester C. McClure, her son Larry D. McClure and her twin sister Ernestine Simpson.

Survivors include her daughters Carole (Boyd) Wright and Sharon Brown both of Spring City , grandchildren Brent (Darlene) Wright of Decatur, Leslie (Steve) Shelton of Oak Ridge, David Brown Jr. of California, Jason (Margaret) McClure of Ft. Payne, AL and Michael Wright of Spring City, great granddaughters Serena Huffine of Lenior City, Faith Wright of Spring City, Zo ë Sweeden of Oak Ridge, Stephanie (Nick) Mashburn of Athens, TN and daughter-in-law Brenda McClure of Scottsboro, Alabama.

Funeral s ervices for Maxine will be private with the burial being in the Spring City Memorial Gardens . There will be no visitation.
