H. C. Smith Jr. , 85 of Spring City died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at his residence.

Born on May 2, 1935 , H. C. was a lifetime resident of Spring City. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in law enforcement for many years.  H. C. owned and operated Wolf Creek Market and J & H Pallet Company.  He loved NASCAR racing and vacations at the beach.  H. C. loved his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Texas Grove Baptist Church in Evensville.

H. C. was preceded in death by his parents Henry Clay and Melody Hill Smith Sr., his daughter Susan Annette Smith and his sisters Sudie Miller Lowe and Margaret Holloway.

Survivors include his wife Peggy J. Smith of Spring City , son Doyle (Katie) Smith of Spring City, sisters Henrietta Suttles of Spring City, Elsie Gibson of Evensville and June Kyle of Dayton, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Texas Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Huskey officiating.  Interment will be in the Porter-Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church.
