Hazel Smith Marler, 85, died Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Rhea County.
A longtime resident of Rhea County, Hazel was the daughter of the late Isaac and Josephine Cooley Smith. She was a graduate of Rhea Central High School. Hazel worked as a secretary for 34 years at the UT Agriculture Extension Service and retired in 1988. She was of the Baptist faith.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Elmer W. Marler and brothers Barney, Gifford and Clayton Smith.
Survivors include her friend of 78 years, Joan Beene of Evensville and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Spring City Memorial Gardens with Dr. Roger Rothwell officiating. There will be no visitation.
