Harold E. Fisher, 73 of Spring City died Friday, October 1, 2021 at his home.

Born on April 1, 1948, H arold was a lifetime resident of Rhea County.  He was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1967 and attended Auto Diesel Mechanic School in Nashville.  Harold served in the U. S. Ar my during the Vietnam Conflict.  He worked for TVA Watts Bar as a heavy equipment foreman retiring after 35 years. In 1982, Harold was first elected to the Rhea County Commission and served over 30 years; multiple times as Chairman.  He also served on the Watts Bar Utility Board and as Chairman of the Fire Authority Board since 1984.  Harold started the Rhea County Fair in 2008 and served on the Board of Rhea County Hospital .  He was a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City and served as a deacon and longtime treasurer.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents Gene and Violet Fisher.

Survivors include his wife of 52 y ears Jane Fisher of Spring City, his children Bethany (Chad) Hughes of Spring City, Aaron (Terri) Fisher of Knoxville and Brittaney (Curtis) Dean of Spring City, his brothers Curtis Fisher and George (Susie) Fisher both of Evensville, TN, his grandchildren Chandler and Chase Horton, Keyli Hickey, Lauren Fisher, Jack Simmons and Matthew Fisher and his great grandchildren Rowan and Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 3 pm at the Wolf Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Forgey officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Wolf Creek Baptist Church and Sunday from 1 pm at the church until the time of service.

Harold's passion was the Rhea County Fair and his wish was for a covered arena.  Donations toward the completion of the arena may be made in memory of Harold to the Rhea County Fair, P. O. Box 117, Evensville, TN  37332.
