Gladys Waters Simpson, age 68, of Spring City, died Thursday, May 14, 2026 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

She was born July 18, 1957 to the late Arnold and Mamie Welch Waters in Rhea County and was a lifelong resident. She enjoyed watching game shows, shopping and spending as much time as she could with her family.

She is also preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Waters.

Survivors include her husband; Harold "Cotton"Jenkins of Spring City, son; Mark (Tina Robbins) Simpson of Spring City, her grandchildren; Briana (River) Smith, Christopher (Madisyn) Simpson and great-grandchildren; Charlotte and Rosalynn Smith. She is also survived by her brothers; Donald and Lester Clawson of Spring City, Charles Waters of Dayton Mountain, her sister; Edith "Sissy" (Roger) Munson of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews.

A private burial will be held at Spring City Memorial Gardens.
